Do I qualify for ORBERA®?

To qualify for ORBERA®, you must:

• Be an adult, age 18+

• Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 to 40

• Be willing to participate in a medically supervised program

How much does ORBERA® cost?

The cost of the ORBERA® procedure differs. Typically, one inclusive price covers the cost of:

• The ORBERA® placement and removal procedures

• Nine months of support from a physician and dietary specialists

• Any facility fees

There are things you can do to make the ORBERA® procedure cost more affordable. Many practices offer financing options, including payment plans, and secured medical loans may be available. Additionally, you may be able to save a substantial amount by using money from a tax-free health savings account (HSA) or a flexible spending account (FSA).

How will I feel after the ORBERA® procedure?

It may take a few days for your stomach to adjust to the ORBERA® gastric balloon. During this time, you may experience some side effects, including:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Gastric discomfort

• Reflux

These side effects are normal. Your doctor can help manage them with medications.

How much weight will I lose, and how quickly will I lose it?

Every person is different, but generally, based on hundreds of clinical studies conducted on ORBERA® worldwide, you can expect to lose around 10-20 percent of your total body weight. Most will lose close to 20 percent. This is roughly three times more weight lost than with just diet and exercise alone.

Most patients lose a majority of their weight during the first three months after undergoing the ORBERA® gastric balloon procedure. However, you should continue to lose weight during the remaining three months the balloon is in place – and after, if you follow a healthy eating regimen.
